The right Hair and Make up for every bride

Getting married is a wonderful experience and one that will be cherished for the rest of a women’s life. So, as you can imagine every woman embarking on marriage and preparing for this day must get it right!

If your newly engaged and beginning the journey of planning your unique wedding experience, Congratulations!! I imagine you are already flicking through as much information as you can get your hands on, to get ideas about how you would like your day to be. An area that is very important to a bride- to- be is the way she will look on the day. In fact, a few of us have even given it a passing thought prior to an engagement … come on be honest!!!

The way you look and feel on the day is imperative to the memories you will hold forever. You want to look back at the wedding album in the years to follow and feel happy about your choice of style and theme for the day. Most women have a good idea of what they would like in terms of a gown and hair and makeup however once they realise exactly what is out there and the many choices they have it can be a bit confusing and hard to make any solid decisions. Luckily these day there is plenty of professional help available and these professionals will use their expertise to walk you through the process making the overall experience much more enjoyable and the end result being more wonderful than could be imagined!

Hair and make-up is a very exciting part of the overall look and feel on the day. When a bride first contacts us we can tell just how excited she is about choosing her style for her wedding day. We do get a variety of Brides (and no bride is the same) some very confident and organised and others a little more apprehensive about the whole experience therefore really needing more guidance and support. We love to talk weddings so they have come to the right place!! I think the first and most important part of this process is find a company or an artist that you feel comfortable with, and who wants to listen to you. We always like to make our customers comfortable so will often just chat to them about what they are wearing and what they have done so far in terms of organising for the day. It is great to know as much information as possible and it’s a good way for us to start to get to know each other. We like to work closely with our brides and help build the service required to fit their special day. Often a bride will be getting married far away from their home so we have many wonderful, amazing artists situated all over the UK. We can help find someone close to the venue and we can work out the best way to have a trial and meet the artist. Our artists are great and very flexible and friendly so will either make the long journey to you at home or work out a way for you to come to them at a convenient time. We can also cater for larger groups and book additional artists should you have an early start or a very large bridal party. We can also arrange for additional hair and make-up changes throughout the day and touch ups should this be required. It’s up to you, just let us know how we can help and we will try to make it happen!!

How to find the right hair and make up for you? We encourage our brides to gather as much visual information as possible prior to meeting an artist. Today there is so much out there and this is an important process! There are amazing blogs where you can look at real brides and their choices for hair and make-up and Pinterest and google will offer so many images whatever your style or style ideas. We can help with this process however I find that most brides enjoy this part and it’s something fun to do in the months leading up to the trial. It doesn’t hurt to find an image that you may want to look like even if you don’t have the hair for it. You can always grow your hair or cheat and add extensions, most things are possible and are artist will create a very good version of this tailored to you, remember to be realistic in your choices as we still want to capture the real essence of you!  

At the trial we will give plenty of time to find out as much as we can about you. Your make up style, your favourite products, skin type, whether you always wear your hair up or always down, perhaps a current picture of where you liked the way that you looked. All of this helps us get to know you and understand your likes and dislikes. We would then look at the dress and the neckline, the style and features could influence the choice of the hair and make-up look. Perhaps you have a strong colour scheme running through the wedding that we would want to be aware of?  All our artists have experience with working with different types of skin tones and complexions and have lots of experience with different face shapes and hair types so will be able to guide you in making the right choice. They can offer their tips and tricks to achieve the most flattering outcome from a chosen style. Our artists will demonstrate, where needed, contouring, highlighting, redness reduction and blemish diminishing makeup techniques, lash extensions and even hair extensions should these be required for the style. We will then try a couple of styles and looks and take pictures so we can all have reference of this in the run to the day. Often our brides must choose, as they like so many of them!!

Now are customers are feeling 100% confident which is just how they should be feeling in the run up to the big day. Our team of professional both in the office and on the road, have everything in hand so you don’t have to worry … at all! After plenty of prep an artist will come and recreate your chosen style, help organise the group on the morning of the wedding and keep everything nice and calm. Getting ready is a lovely part of the day and you can now relax and let your artist make you look and feel amazing!
